LODD--Brother George Sly

Brothers and Sisters,

Brother George Sly did succumb to esophageal cancer on November 22nd. His Funeral service in planned for December 10th at 2 pm. A processional is planned that will start at Station 10 located at 17217 Sprague Avenue and if you plan to be in it, be there no later than noon. Please inform the Locals in your District of this LODD and upcoming celebration of Brother Sly’s life. Class A uniforms are encouraged for line personnel.

A bit about Brother Sly:

George H. Sly was a 32 year member of the Spokane Valley Fire Department and a member of Local 876. Brother Sly was an Engineer on Engine 3 at the time of his passing on November 22nd of 2011. Brother Sly serve Local 876 in many official capacities and was known as the first LEOFF 2 hire in the department. Brother Sly succumbed to esophageal cancer presumed to be contracted from his many years serving his community. Brother Sly is survived by his wife Linda and adult children Kristoffer and Jocelyn. Those wishing to be in the processional should gather at Station 10 by noon located at 17217 Sprague Avenue. Class A uniforms are encouraged for line personnel.
