Another Fire...

NARRATIVE: On December the 8th at 5:44 p/m the City of Spokane Fire Department responded to 307 West 2nd Ave to a reported room fire in the Tscany Apartments. Upon arrival it was reported that light smoke was showing from the second floor. Fire crews entered the building and discovered a room on fire on the second floor. A search was immediately conducted on the second and third floors to check for possible trapped tenants and at the same time attack leads were advanced to fight and extinguish the fire. This took about fifteen minutes to knock down the main body of fire. Over haul and final extinguishment took about three hours. No one was located during the search. The fire was confined to the room of origin and there was no spread upward. Sixteen rooms were occupied in the twenty five room apartment. Light smoke was sent throughout the second and third floors. The fire room suffered extensive damage causing the tenant to be displaced. Red Cross was assisting those tenants who need help. No injuries were reported. The fire was determined to be accidental electrical. Nine fire apparatus and two command vehicles were dispatched to this incident for a total of thirty personnel.
